TapCal v1.4.2 – Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements
This update is mainly focused on stability and polish.
v1.4 introduced a lot of new functionality, especially with reminders and widgets, and v1.4.2 focuses on tightening things up, fixing edge cases, and improving reliability across the calendar, reminders, and widgets.
✨ New Feature
Subscription Events Now Open in Their Own View
Subscription events now have a dedicated detail view.
Previously, tapping a subscription event would show an alert explaining that the event belonged to a subscription calendar. Now it opens a proper event view with details about the subscription instead.
This makes browsing subscribed calendars much smoother and more consistent with normal events.
🐞 Bug Fixes
A number of issues have been fixed across the app, especially around multi-day events, reminders, and widgets.
- Fixed an issue where long multi-day events could disappear or be cut off in the month view when reminders were enabled.
- Reminder notifications no longer say “no priority” when no priority is set.
- Fixed multi-day timed events showing incorrect times in the Upcoming List widget.
- Fixed calendar refresh issues after creating, deleting, or editing reminders and recurring events.
- Fixed event deletion not always updating the UI immediately.
- Notification wording now correctly shows Today or Tomorrow based on the actual alert time.
Widget and Weather Fixes
- Fixed widget weather access so Pro users correctly see the extended forecast in widgets.
- Improved weather refresh and widget syncing for more consistent forecast data across the app and widgets.
- Fixed calendar widgets and the heat map not always moving to the correct week or month when the date changed.
- Fixed widget navigation state sometimes getting stuck on older weeks or months after browsing.
Reminder and Data Sync Fixes
- Fixed reminder data staying stale for a few minutes after changing settings like carry-over incomplete reminders or hiding completed reminders.
- Improved calendar refresh and transition logic so dates and events stay properly in sync.
Performance and Reliability
- Improved month paging and preloading for smoother swiping between months.
- Fixed an issue where the calendar could sometimes open blank or fail to load correctly.
- Improved app icon badge refresh scheduling so date-based badges update more reliably when the day changes.
A Polishing Update
v1.4.2 is all about reliability.
Many of these fixes target small edge cases that only appear in complex calendars, but together they make TapCal more stable and predictable to use day-to-day.
As always, feedback helps shape these updates, so keep it coming.
