TapCal v1.4

This is a big one.
v1.4 introduces full Reminders integration, a redesigned Add screen, a proper widget refresh, and a lot of control improvements across the app.
This update isn’t just new features. It changes how Tapcal feels day to day.
You can now create and manage reminders directly inside Tapcal.
From the Add New screen, there’s now a simple Event / Reminder toggle. One entry point. Two flows.
When creating a reminder you can set:
Reminders now appear:
Calendars & Lists
They’re treated as first-class items, not an afterthought.
There’s now a dedicated Reminder Settings section where you can control:
You also get long-press context menus for reminders directly in the list view.
The Add screen has been redesigned.
Events and reminders now share one unified entry point, with a clearer flow depending on what you’re creating.
It’s faster and more intentional.
Widgets have had a proper refresh.
Changes include:
It should feel tighter and more consistent across sizes.
You can now choose what appears on the app icon badge:
Small change, but useful if you rely on badges.
More control over highlighting:
Shared controls for both the app and widgets now live in one place.
Things like:
No more jumping between separate areas to change global behaviour.
Settings screens have been cleaned up with:
It’s simpler to understand what does what.
Event title size now uses a slider instead of step-based controls.
It’s faster, more visual, and works across both Calendar and Widget settings.
You can now choose to show start times directly on month event bars in both the app and widgets.
More context, without opening the event.
Additional styling control for how the current day appears in both the calendar and widgets.
Subtle, but important for clarity.
The month header now uses a frosted blur style, so content scrolls underneath more naturally.
It feels more at home on modern iOS.
Location search now includes:
Small quality-of-life upgrade, but noticeable.
“Calendar Sets” now reflects that it includes both calendars and reminders.
More accurate, less confusing.
Improved caching and preloading make timeline loading smoother, especially on larger calendars.
Less waiting. More scrolling.
A full typography pass has been done across the app.
Font sizing and weights are now more consistent everywhere.
It’s subtle, but it makes the whole app feel tighter.
You can now tap the month/day to jump to any date quickly.
Simple, but very useful when navigating further ahead.
v1.4 makes Tapcal more complete.
Reminders are now fully integrated.
Widgets are cleaner.
Settings are clearer.
Performance is smoother.
As always, a lot of this came directly from feedback.
More to come.
