This update focuses on new ways to organise your calendars, better widgets and views, and a lot of polish that makes Tapcal feel more complete and dependable day to day.
Some changes unlock entirely new ways of using the app. Others quietly remove friction you’d only notice if they were missing.
Here’s everything that landed in v1.2.
Calendar Sets let you create curated groups of calendars and switch between them instantly.
Perfect for separating different parts of your life, for example:
Each set can have its own icon, which is shown directly on the calendar view so you always know which context you’re in at a glance.
You can now add calendar subscriptions and keep external calendars automatically up to date inside Tapcal.
This is ideal for shared calendars, public schedules, or any calendar that updates regularly.
The week widget is finally here.
See your upcoming week directly on your home screen when a full month is too much context. It gives you a focused planning view without needing to open the app.
The widget layout settings page has been redesigned.
It’s now clearer, easier to understand, and includes previews for both the month and the new week widget, so you know exactly what you’re configuring.
The add new event screen has been refreshed to be cleaner and easier to use.
Improvements include:
Creating and editing events now feels faster and more deliberate.
Accidentally deleting an event is frustrating.
Tapcal now includes a recovery page for recently deleted events, giving you a simple safety net when managing your calendar.
Time-sensitive notifications can now break through Focus modes if the alert is less than one hour away.
Important events don’t get missed just because a Focus mode is enabled.
Several small changes that make the calendar clearer to scan:
If an event includes a URL, you can now open it directly in Safari.
If the link points to an app you have installed, Safari will usually hand it off automatically.
Tapcal now alerts you if you’re about to save an event to a calendar that’s currently hidden.
This avoids confusion when events appear to “disappear” simply because the calendar isn’t visible.
The custom alerts page has been redesigned with better layout and clearer control, especially for events that need precise timing.
The main calendar refresh logic has been rewritten again.
This improves:
You probably won’t notice it explicitly, which is exactly the point.
This update also includes a long list of fixes and refinements:
These changes don’t shout, but they add up to a smoother, more reliable experience.
This update is about making Tapcal feel solid in every corner.
More ways to view your time.
More control over how calendars are organised.
Better performance.
Fewer sharp edges.
As always, feedback directly shapes where Tapcal goes next.
